We are actively looking for a Female mentor to join our REAL team to support First Nations women exiting incarceration in Western Sydney. You'll provide culturally safe support upto 6-months pre-release and continue supporting 12-months post-release with a strong focus on reconnection to community, culture and employment.
This is a full-time contract until June 30, 2030, and will be based out of our Penrith office Monday to Friday.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
- Workshop & program facilitation
- Cultural activities
- Administrations tasks
- Compliance management
- Community engagement
- Mentoring of First Nations people exiting incarceration
- Case management
- Employer engagement
- Service referrals & advocacy
- Stakeholder engagement
Knowledge & Experience:
- Relevant experience in similar programs or industry.
- Connection to the First Nations community and culture
- Knowledge and understanding of the Justice system and it's impact on First Nations communities.
- Customer service focused: committed to providing exceptional customer service across all channels - written, phone and face to face.
- Communication: the ability to communicate clearly and concisely , varying communication style depending upon the audience.
- Attention to detail: excellent attention to detail and written skills when communicating with others, both internally and externally.
- Commerciality: ability to apply knowledge in a practical, commercial manner.
- Teamwork: willingness to assist and support others as required and get on with team members.
- Time management/organisation : accomplish objectives effectively within time frame given, and carry out administrative duties within portfolio in an efficient and timely manner.
